6th Graduation Ceremony at KIITEC

The 6th Graduation ceremony took place on Friday september 26th 2014. In front of the Guest of Honour, the management and the teaching staff, 21 students received their NTA 6 Diploma, a National award, recognizing their three year academic successes with KIITEC.

FTE is Featured in UNESCO-UNEVOC Report on Tackling Youth Unemployment Through TVET

The latest report has come out from UNESCO-UNEVOC from the Virtual Conference on Tackling Youth Unemployment Through TVET. Ms Ashley Sims, FTE Director of Operations, was invited as a presenter during the WebEx Live Teleconference portion of the Conference to present FTE's approach to technical education. KIITEC Recognized With Full NACTE Accreditation Status Certificate at Official Ceremony


Last week, KIITEC’s Principal Onesmo Matei, was invited to the National Conference for Rectors and Principals of Institutes and Colleges Regulated by NACTE to represent KIITEC in its accreditation accomplishments. Honourable Dr. S.J. Kawambwa (MP), the Minister of Education and Vocational Training of Tanzania presented the Accreditation Status Certificate to Mr. Matei during the official ceremony.

KIITEC Trainer Successfully Awarded Internationally Recognised Certificate for the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Sector


Mr. Omari Abdallah, an Assistant Teacher at KIITEC, was successfully awarded the Galileo Master Certificate by the European Energy Committee (EEC) this November. Over the past few months, Mr. Omari has been working hard through distance learning courses to upgrade his skills in Solar Photovoltaic and Solar Water Heating. This week he received the news of his positive exam results and has been added to the list of achievers of the Galileo Master Certificate, an internationally recognised distinction for the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Sector.

Alphonse Franco - Volunteering a Fulfilling Experience!


For me, it was pretty much by chance that I started volunteering but as chance would have it, I became a volunteer with ADEI. My professional life had led me to work in an Automations Research Laboratory called ENSEIG (INP Grenoble), where I was a CNRS Instrumentations Engineer. Also, I was involved in activities that had to with Industrial Applications. At the same time I also taught in schools and also at IUT GEII.

Volunteer Joel Lequette Shares Experiences From His Missions Across Tanzania

Since 2009, I have worked as a volunteer in developing projects at KIITEC in Arusha, Tanzania. I started out by providing training in Control Systems Maintenance to the locally hired teachers at KIITEC but have since increased my involvement in projects over there. I have seen the impact FTE’s Education Model on students, the local communities and industries and I believe that it is a powerful model worth expanding across the region.

For the first time in KIITEC’s history, a female graduate was recognized with top marks in the graduating class and was honoured to address her classmates as the valedictorian during the ceremony. KIITEC Principal Invited as Keynote Speaker at Inaugural Conference on TVET in Mombasa, Kenya

The Kenya Association of Technical Training Institutions (KATTI), in collaboration with the Kenyan Ministry of Education hosted its first East African Regional Conference on TVET under the theme “The Role of TVET in the Development Agenda of Africa”. The event took place from August 25th – 30th, 2013 at the Sai Rock Hotel in Mombasa, Kenya. Looking at technical and vocational education and training as a main driver of development in Africa, the conference addressed the issues and priorities around skills-based training across East Africa.
